About Shekhar Annambhotla, Founder & Director

I have been practicing Ayurvedic medicine and educating people in Ayurveda worldwide since 1988. Ayurveda is not just a system of alternative medicine, but is actually a comprehensive and ancient science of health. A life lived in tune with Nature and Ayurvedic principles is invariably a happy, healthy and balanced one. It is my belief that due to the open nature of Ayurveda and its timeless principles, it is a boon to those of us living in the modern, stressful world. It is my mission to educate and help people live healthier lives with Ayurveda.

I began my eight-year course of study in Ayurvedic Medicine at the age of 17, first at Nagarjuna University in Andhra Pradesh, India and then at Gujarat Ayurved University in Gujarat, India, where I earned my Doctor of Medicine in Ayurveda. I am also a Registered Yoga Teacher (R.Y.T.-500) with the Yoga Alliance and an instructor of therapeutic Hatha Yoga, having completed training at the Swami Vivekananda Yoga Research Center in India.
A former faculty member of NKJ Ayurvedic Medical College in Karnataka, India, I also served as an Ayurvedic consultant to the Maharishi Spiritual Organization for over 7 years, traveling extensively throughout Europe, Latin America and North America to develop and teach courses, deliver lectures and offer consultations for health professionals and for the general public. During my travels, I gave several newspaper interviews on Ayurveda, as well as an interview for BBC's Breakfast Television on Ayurvedic Pulse Technique.

I am the Founder and President of AAPNA (Association of Ayurvedic Professionals of North America) and serve on the editorial board of LOAJ - Light on Ayurveda Education Foundation.

My wife, Sudha, my sons, Krishna and Kishore, and I live in the beautiful Lehigh Valley of Pennsylvania.
